Lord Rama is often held as an emblem within Hinduism for being an ideal king and human through his righteousness, good conduct and virtue.

Lord Rama showcases that a warrior’s strength lies not only in physical might but also in moral rectitude,

It falls on the ninth day (Navami) of the Chaitra month in the Hindu calendar, typically in March or April.

Celebrated with great fervour and devotion across India and among Hindu communities worldwide, Ram Navami holds profound spiritual significance.

This day is significant for festivities in Ayodhya and many other Rama temples across India. There are various locations where Rama, Sita, Lakshmana, and Hanuman conduct their chariot processions or ratha yatras.

  • Many people in Ayodhya visit the Rama temple after taking a dip in the holy Sarayu river.

Each gesture is imbued with meaning, and each chant resonates with power,

Rituals and Observances

In the spirit of self-discipline and devotion, many of us observe fasts on Ram Navami,

  • symbolizing our commitment to spiritual purification and inner strength.

Through the act of abstaining from food, we cleanse our bodies and minds, making space for the divine to reside within us.

As warriors of discipline, we embrace this opportunity to sharpen our focus and deepen our connection with the divine essence.

But fasting is not merely an act of deprivation;

  • it is a form of spiritual nourishment, a way to cleanse the body and purify the soul.

As the day progresses, we feel a sense of lightness and clarity,

  • as if shedding the burdens of the past and stepping into a brighter, more luminous future.

With each passing hour, our resolve strengthens, our hearts open wider, and our spirits soar higher,

  • as we draw closer to the divine presence of Lord Rama.

At The Better Warrior, our Ram Navami rituals extend beyond personal observance to communal celebration.

We come together as a community, chanting hymns, singing bhajans, and recounting the timeless tales of Lord Rama’s valour and righteousness.

In our shared devotion, we find strength and solidarity, uniting under the banner of divine virtue and spiritual enlightenment.

The air resonates with the melodious strains of devotional songs, as we raise our voices in praise of Lord Rama.

The rhythm of the drums echoes through the streets, inviting all who hear it to join in the celebration.

From every corner of the city, devotees converge on temples and community centres, eager to partake in the joyous festivities.

It is a time of renewal and rebirth, a time to cast aside old grievances and embrace the promise of a brighter tomorrow.
